Greek Revival Center Hall

authentic house

The center hall in the house was constructed in the early 1800s and shifted the house’s center to the hall with two rooms on either side of the hall.

The east side off the center hall includes the original one room pioneer settlement which was divided into two rooms, a Victorian style parlor and an office or bedroom besides the parlor. The west side off the center hall includes another parlor, Federal in style, and besides it a 1700s keeping room/ kitchen which has not undergone any renovation. The redesign of bedrooms on the second floor were also reconstructed during this period of renovation. Much of this movement of space and rooms is evident in the changes of floor boards and walls on both floors.
